Find inspiration at Teaching and Learning Fair

Barbara Holland
The Teaching and Learning Fair is an opportunity for faculty to learn from one another and from keynote speaker Dr. Barbara Holland, internationally known expert on service-learning and community engagement. The fair takes place from 9-11 a.m. Feb. 14 in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, followed by Holland's address at 11:15 a.m.

More than 100 faculty will present their insights into such topics as valuable new educational technology, working with students who have disabilities, interacting with students in cyberspace, and more. All events are free and open to everyone; no registration is needed.

A special breakout session will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in 316 Union on using Canvas, the University's Learning Management System. Mike Kudela of the Center for Faculty Excellence, who has helped faculty develop courses in Canvas, will share tips for using Canvas more efficiently and to its greatest advantage.

Help boost BGSU to the top in Recyclemani

The Bowling Green campus is once again swept up in Recyclemania, a nationwide competition whose goal is to increase BGSU and other universities' recycling rate and decrease waste. Running through March 29, the contest pits more than 600 colleges and universities against one another to see who can recycle the most over an eight-week period, as measured by weight.

BGSU residence halls have historically done well in the contest (adding a friendly competition against one another to the national effort). For the second year now, the entire University is participating in addition to the residence halls, and all recycling across campus will be counted in BGSU's totals each week. This means that everyone can help the University compete by recycling all around campus.
