BGSU Virtual Campus in Minecraft
The BGSU Virtual Campus makes its premier in Minecraft, a new indie game / virtual world that has gone viral and become wildly popular in 2010. For the debut, the BGSU Virtual Campus is hosting two Minecraft art contests for the 2010 ArtsXtravaganza. See below for details and then fill out the form to participate.
To access the BGSU Virtual Campus in Minecraft Alpha Server (paid account required, multiplayer version), download the Minecraft client from http://www.minecraft.net and then in Multiplayer connect to "virtualcampus.bgsu.edu". Alternatively, you can try navigating your browser to: http://virtualcampus.bgsu.edu/Minecraft/Alpha.html (not recommended).
To access the BGSU Virtual Campus in Minecraft Classic Server (free, single-player, sandbox version), navigate your browser to: http://virtualcampus.bgsu.edu/Minecraft/Classic.html (***Anything created on this server does NOT qualify for the two Minecraft art contests for the 2010 ArtsXtravaganza***)
Both above Minecraft servers are only accessible via on-campus computers. Make sure the latest version of Java is installed. You must register at minecraft.net and login for your work to be saved. You must have a paid account on Minecraft to access the Alpha server. Users/participants are responsible for all Minecraft membership registration and fees.
