Research Interests

A primary area of interest is in helping students better understand how organizations operate and how to integrate new technologies to improve organization performance. An additional area of focus is on ensuring that the workplace perceives these new applications as both practical and value-added.

About Me

I joined the faculty of Bowling Green State University in 2001. I was formerly Corporate Director of Organization Development and Management Development for a Fortune 300 company. In this capacity, I was responsible for a number of functions including the development and implementation of Professional and Skill development programs for all employees. I served as a Leadership Coach to senior management, and developed and directed the Leadership improvement plans for managers at all levels.

What I Do

I teach courses in the areas of learning design and research and evaluation. Some of the courses I currently teach are TECH 4310 Instructional Materials Development, LRND 6010 Principles of Learning Design, LRND 6600 Evaluation in Learning Design, and LRND 6790 Research in Learning Design.

About Me

I am a faculty member and Academic Advisor for ATE. I arrived at BGSU in 2001 with 28 years experience as a library director, faculty member in masters and doctoral programs, and Director of Doctoral Studies. I also directed a 2 + 2 undergraduate degree designed for adult learners at the University of Findlay. My primary interest is assisting adult students travel the university maze and their academic program by being their resident advocate since they are facing these challenges from a distance. I received my Ph.D. from BGSU

Research Interests

My research centers around the ASL Synthesizer Project, an effort to develop a digital English-to-American Sign Language (ASL) translator. Given a speech input, the system produces animations of ASL through an on-screen avatar. My work focuses on the integration of facial animation and usability testing.

About Me

I am a technologist, writer, animator and musician. I grew up in the Chicago area, where I discovered early the potential of computers as creative tools and integrates them into my artistic endeavors. My compositions combine acoustic, electric and electronic instruments. Other interests include Computer Graphics, 3D Modeling, 3D Animation, and Video Production.

What I Do

Instruction of VCT 2040 Concepts of Visual Communication course; Instruct laboratory and lecture of Introduction to Print Media course, VCT 2080. Instruction of synthesis capstone course, VCT 4670 via online and live formats. Advising 60 undergraduate students throughout the semester. About Me

After graduating with my Masters in 1992, I was employed as a Customer Service Representative at Danner Press Corporation, a commercial printing company, in Canton, OH until 1998. In August of 1998, I became the Art Director for the Projects Division at E-B Display Company, Inc. in Massillon, OH. I was promoted to Print Production Manager at E-B Display in the same division until leaving in 2002.

What I Do

I teach undergraduate courses in area of specialties; advise undergraduate students; serve on department and college committees; collaborate with industries experts on current trends. VCT 2660: Introduction to Interactive Media, emphasis on basic design and production of effective media projects with a focus on network deployment. VCT 3660: Applied Interactive Media Production, following the design process, students will produce complex interactive media projects with an emphasis on distribution.

I am the leader and a lecturer in the photographic track of VCT. I am currently teaching VCT 2820, the introductory photography course, and VCT 4650, Commercial Photography. I am also the Faculty Advisor for the Visual Communication Technology Organization and am involved with student independent studies and mentoring in the field of photography.

I have done research into the psychological appeal of the photographic image. This research involved defining the visual elements that contribute to the visual and psychological appeal, of photographs of lasting merit.

About Me

I am enthusiastic about all types of photography. I have owned Jeffrey Hall Photography for over 20 years. I was also co-owner of The Sundae Station. My personal intersts include travel and cultural photography. I started my career as a photojournalist at The Daily Sentinel Tribune and later became the University Photographer at BGSU. I am a member of Professional Photographers of America and the Student Photographic Society.

What I Do

I teach in the Ph.D. in Technology Management program, Human Resource Development specialization. I am also a member of the Program faculty for the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) baccalaureate completion program for adult students. Both of these programs are offered in a web-based (100% online) format. Courses taught include Adult Learning, Training & Development, Transformational Learning, Career Development, Research Methods, and Evaluation & Assessment.

What I Do

As a fifth year Instructor of the VCT 1030- Introduction to Visual Communication Technology course, I teach students with a variety of majors and diverse backgrounds including: VCT, Architecture, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, and Interior Design. I lecture to an average of 200 students each semester while coordinating 10-12 labs and teaching 3 labs. I am also a VCT faculty advisor.

I worked in the print industry for over 20 years prior to becoming an instructor at BGSU. My first job out of college was for a Prepress company in Chicago, IL where I did estimating. After a few years, I returned to the Toledo area where I worked for a couple of different printing companies. My job functions included estimating, customer service, production planning & scheduling and safety coordinator.
