About BGSU Aviation

Since its inception in 1978, BGSU's aviation program has produced some of the most competent, highly skilled airline pilots, cargo pilots, airport managers, FBO managers, corporate executives and military professionals!

BGSU Aviation is a FAR Part 141 approved flight education and training program. Aviation majors choose from one of two specializations: Flight Technology and Operations (FTO) or Aviation Management and Operations (AMO). Coursework in each specialization is complemented with business and liberal arts classes that differentiate BGSU’s program from other similar programs.

Each specialization offers a combination of theory and hands-on practice, including cooperative education work experiences. The faculty are leaders in using and teaching emerging technologies and practices in the field of aviation. The program is fully accredited by The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).

Our Mission

The mission of BGSU Aviation is to provide a safe and viable aviation program that is responsive to and serves the legitimate needs of the students, faculty, and general aviation. We also promote regional economic development and research that supports the vision and mission of the university.

Our Vision

The vision of BGSU Aviation is to excel in the preparation of aviation professionals for careers in the aviation industry, while striving to become one of the best aviation programs in the nation.
