BGSU's unique values program

Bowling Green State University has developed the BG Experience, an innovative academic program required for all first-year students.  Through the BG Experience, students develop relationships that connect them to the BGSU community, and critical thinking and communication skills that prepare them to succeed academically and beyond.

The program begins with an introduction before the actual start of classes, and continues throughout the year.  During the introduction, students participate in lively, interactive, small group sessions that help them learn about the University's expectations.  They are introduced to concepts useful in exploring their values and examine the role values play in decision-making.  Students are encouraged to evaluate, explore and build on their own personal beliefs.

BGeX classes are offered in a wide array of subject areas - from biology and history to popular culture and art.  Classes are small and are taught by outstanding faculty members.  All BGeX classes help students fulfill their degree requirements and cover the typical course content.  They also integrate critical thinking about values with course content.
