Welcome Incoming Freshmen Students!

Congratulations on your decision to attend Bowling Green State University!  Your first year of college will be a year of new changes and exciting challenges.  BGeXperience is a program that began in 2002 and was designed to help smooth the transition between high school and college.  We do this by bringing all incoming freshmen students to campus early so you have a chance to sample college life and acquaint yourself with your new hometown prior to the opening first day of class. 

Move-in for freshmen students is scheduled for Saturday, August 23 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Your move-in assignments will come from the Office of Residence Life. 

The first BGeX Introduction session begins that evening, Saturday, August 23 at 9:30 pm.  Every incoming freshman student will have a BGeX "V" class on his/her schedule.  All BGeX classes (or "values" classes) will be indicated on the fall schedule with a "V" in the course section (MV01).   

Every BGeX Introduction session will meet in an assigned classroom on campus with a BGeX peer facilitator (upper-class mentor).  Some intro sessions will be assisted by a resident advisor, and on Sunday you will meet with your BGeX Instructor who will continue to teach this BGeX class throughout the fall term.  See below schedule for all BGeX Introduction session times.  (Classroom assignments will be posted to this website, and available at help stations in every residence hall and in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union on move-in day.)

The BGeX Introduction is a great way for you to meet at least one professor and an upper-class mentor; to meet other students in a small group (approx 25) that will remain together for the fall term; to explore your own individual values; and to prepare each one of you for academic excellence.  It is our goal to help make this big step to college as successful as possible.
