Bowling Green State University's Russian Club is tight-knit student organization comprised of students actively involved on campus and interested in Russia. Each semester the organization hosts meetings where students partake in cultural activities, such as learning how to create Russian art, exploring Russian literature, and enjoying Russian cuisine. Russian Club also sponsors campus events and excursions. In 2006 the organization attended a production of Pushkin's "Eugene Onegin" opera in Cleveland and listened to former Secretary General of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, speak at Miami University. In 2007 students enjoyed "Stravinsky Revisited," a dance performance, at the University of Michigan as well as Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto #2" at the Perystile Theater in Toledo. More recently the organization hosted the "International Career Forum" with guests from Ohio State University, the FBI, and IREX, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit.
