| Frequently Asked Questions |
| What exactly are you guys anyway? We're part social Greek fraternity (but we welcome women), honor society, community service club, and leadership organization. Simply put, we've taken the best parts of different groups and clubs and created a unique and dynamic campus organization. What is the difference between an honor fraternity and honor society? The essential difference between an honor fraternity and an honor society is that an honor society is an association rather than an organization, and it functions mainly to recognize the past academic achievements of its potential members. The honor fraternity seeks to organize the service, fund-raising, social and recreational potential of its membership while promoting its dedication to and respect for education and academic excellence. Why Brothers? Phi Sigma Pi believes that brotherhood is a concept that extends beyond gender. Thus, nationally, all members are referred to as "brothers." However, the terms "members" and "brothers and sisters" are also used. I'm already a brother/sister in (name of fraternity/sorority). Can I still join Phi Sigma Pi? Yes! Phi Sigma Pi is not a social greek organization, so no conflict of interest is presented when joining Phi Sigma Pi. Several of our brothers are also social greeks. What is your No Hazing policy? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Phi Sigma Pi is very serious about No Hazing. We are about scholarship, fellowship and leadership. Hazing does nothing to further these ideals. We do not believe respect comes from physical, emotional or mental humilation. How much are dues for Phi Sigma Pi? Our dues are less then $80 a semester. Where do the dues go? Most of the dues goes to National Headquarters. The local Chapter retains some of the dues to make up our operating budget What if my question wasn't answered here? Feel free to contact us if you have a question that hasn't been answered here! |
