Mortar Board Week
Each spring, Mortar Board chapters across the nation spend a week promoting their chapter and the national organization. This week is Mortar Board Week and it is an important time for chapters to gain visibility on campus and attract potential members. Some chapters hold raffles, some plan service events, others simply do everything they can to get their name out on campus.
Our chapter reserves tables in the Student Union for the week and spends a few hours each day spreading the word about who we are and what we do. We create flyers, handouts, brochures and informational displays to let people on campus know exactly what Mortar Board is. Interested students can pick up applications, information about membership and its benefits, or play our chapter's game "Are You Smarter Than a Mortar Board-er" to win prizes like BGSU-themed wrist bands.
