InterVarsity traces its history to student groups at Oxford and Cambridge Universitites in England in the 1870’s. The Fellowship spread among campuses throughout Great Britian and Canada, and in 1938 the first InterVarsity chapter in the United States began at the University of Michigan. Today, we serve more than 35,000 students and faculty on 550 campuses nationwide.

InterVarsity is a founding member of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, a network of 140 national Christian student movements around the world.
