Love / Why so Hard?

Truth Seekers = Love - Why so Hard?

God is love!
"Love is to will the good of the other" St. Thomas Aquinas

When you are trying to love another but do not know how you need to look to God and see how He loves that person, and then try to model your own love after that. (Triangle diagram)

Clip from the movie "Fireproof"

Young couple arguing and blaming each other for everything that is making them unhappy

At the end of the clip they both agree that they want to "get out" of the marriage

What is wrong? They should not blame each other, they are both feeling unappreciated, they are finding other forms of fulfillment besides each other

Genesis 2: 15-25

Communion of Persons

Whatever your spouse experiences you do as well

You are one and the same ... "and they shall become one flesh"

Genesis 3:1-10 The Fall of Man

The serpent portrays God as the deceiver who is being greedy, therefore Eve must grasp for what she wants because she no longer has faith in God

When we lose the gift to receive from God an try to grasp things ourselves we lose the ability to love God and others

When Adam and Eve's eyes were opened they saw each other with lust instead of love, like God had created them to be

T.O.B. "The human body, when studied, can reveal the mystery of God"

Lust= sexual desire void of God's love

sometimes it is tricky to distinguish between love and lust that looks like love, because the Devil wants you to think lust is love

lust is when we see someone as an object to be used, and we want that object to be perfect, which creates problems because no one and nothing is perfect except for God. This desire for perfection creates distorted views of the human body and leads to women wanting to be thin, etc.

4 things destroyed by the fall of man
     1. will/intellect
     2. heart
     3. body - excessive indulgence
     4. body
