Mission Statement

The mission of this organization is to recognize and promote distinction in scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, ethical, multicultural, and diversity awareness in practice, excellence in counseling, and high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling with an emphasis on personal and professional development.

This organization is both an academic and a professional honor society, and is therefore comprised of students, counselor educators, and counseling professionals.

Chi Sigma Iota was established at Ohio University in 1895.

Bowling Green State University Beta Gamma Chapter established in 2004.
