Cosplay

General Rules

All attendees in costume, whether or not they are participating in the Cosplay Competition, must abide by the following rules:

Animarathon V Cosplay Competition

A group MAY sign up as a single entry. Non-Asian cosplay WILL be allowed HOWEVER, your score may be HURT. As thus, it is HIGHLY recommended to stick to Asian cosplay.

First person to register will recieve a custom novelty pin.

There are 3 catagories: rookie (3 or fewer cosplay compititions), intermediate (4-5 cosplay compititions), and expert (6+ competitions OR WINNER of a compitition). NOTE: Experts MAY use a winning costume, but MUST have a different performance. Rookies and Intermediates may enter at a HIGHER rank if they choose.

Performances/skits are REQUIRED for Expert level. Performances/skits are recommended for Rookie and Intermediate; you will NOT be punished, however you may get EXTRA MARKS to your benefit, so please do SOMETHING, it WILL help you to try.

ALL SKITS WILL BE REVIEWED AT COSPLAY REGISTRATION (2:30-3:55). Skits MUST be PG13. The reviewer (non-judge) may give advise and edits to make it fit criteria and WILL allow resubmitions. Use of script is ALLOWED, HOWEVER, you may get extra benefits for memorization. Solo performances should be at LEAST 1 minute. Skits with two or more should be at LEAST 3 minutes.

After the performances, there is going to be a bonus round. Details of this will be announced at the competition. Contestants will be given a choice to be in one of two forms of participation for the bonus round. This round will NOT hurt your score, thus all entries will be participating.

Winners will recieve via land mail an Animarathon V Award Certificate, so they should remain after the competition to give us the mailing information.

Due to limited resources, only ONE ITEM can be won by an entry, thus if there are two or more people in a group, only ONE can get a prize, so participants should decide amoungst themselves who gets to keep the prize.
