Common Interests & Ideals

Brothers of Ohio Zeta share the same set of ideals and values. The common Phi Psi beliefs exist among every one of us. This thread is what binds all Phi Psis together, and provides instant communication. The bonds of brotherhood created through stated ideals bring together young men from every section of the country, from every stratum of society, and from every economic level, so that former strangers, now brothers in Phi Kappa Psi, share a common bond.

Life-Long Friendships

Those friends you forage through your college days quickly become the closest friendships of your entire life. They also become valuable assets later on, with many men coming to your aid in times of need, providing counsel during times of crisis, attending or standing with you at your wedding, and providing valuable friendships after college, that last throughout your entire lifetime. These friendships are maintained through the fraternity and the common bond that every Phi Psi shares.

Personal Success

Personal growth is a primary goal of Phi Kappa Psi. By supporting and fostering personal growth and development of all members through helpful relationships among other Phi Psis and Alumni, members are able to grow and excel in all areas of life. Members of fraternities are more likely to continue their education through graduation, to be more satisfied with their experiences, and to develop stronger loyalties to their universities. Through the fraternity experience, all members are able to grow as individuals and exceed even their own expectations.

Leadership

Phi Kappa Psi provides many opportunities for leadership. This leadership ranges from committees and officer positions to campus wide leadership in the Interfraternity Council and the Undergraduate Student Government. Every member who joins Phi Psi takes a leadership role on campus and has the opportunity to develop his leadership abilities to his potential.

Academics

Academics are the first responsibility of every member of Phi Kappa Psi and every student at Bowling Green State University. We recognize that importance and allow for all members to succeed academically. With a variety of scholarships and financial aid offered, every student should be able to afford his education. The Ohio Zeta colony has a scholarship program designed to hold every member accountable for his grades. Weekly study tables and scholarship programs are designed to help all members be successful.

Community Service

Phi Kappa Psi believes in the joy of serving others. Within our local brotherhood, we value the importance of helping out others. From moving in Freshmen on move-in day to completing and helping with a walk for ALS, the Ohio Zeta colony strives to be involved on campus. Participating in other Greek fundraisers on campus and always assisting others when requested, we strive to be active members of our campus and local community.

Classroom Supplement

The primary focus of college is for education. The academic program is only one part of the educational approach. Phi Kappa Psi provides opportunities to expand individuals education. One of BGSU Core Values is Intellectual & Spiritual growth of all members of the university. Phi Psi values this core value and promotes opportunities for individuals to work with their knowledge and education gained in the classroom and apply it in real life situations.

Strong National Brotherhood

With Phi Kappa Psi having chapters and colonies on campuses across the nation, there is a strong support network of Phi Psi brothers. At leadership conferences, national events, and even smaller regional brotherhoods, there are opportunities to interact with Phi Psi brothers in a variety of situations. These connections often develop into crucial networking tools and lasting friendships.

Alumni Support

The Ohio Zeta Achievement Committee of Phi Kappa Psi is an outstanding organization designed to help our colony succeed and thrive. With a strong alumni base from Bowling Green, we are able to have a network of individuals more than willing to assist in any way possible.

We hold large alumni events over the year including Homecoming and Founders Day. We also welcome the Alumni several other times throughout the year as they periodically drop by to see how the colony is doing.
