The first responsibility of being a Phi Psi is being a student first. Without college and without academics, the fraternity would fail to exist. The fraternity emphasizes this value through a detailed academic program. All members are expected to have a 2.5 Grade Point Average to be considered in good academic standing. Those falling below are unable to participate in social events hosted by the fraternity. The scholarship program offers opportunities for self-improvement, financial scholarships, and academic support. Study TablesAs decided by the scholarship chair, study tables are hosted by the fraternity in a specified location. This is to promote studying and working together to help one another on grades. Older members of the fraternity can help out younger members in their studies Quiet Study Areas & Computer LabIn the fraternity house, located in the Conklin H block, there are areas for quiet study, and a university provided computer lab. These facilities are available for the success of all students. Advisors and Faculty InvolvementWith the assistance of advisors and other faculty members, the Ohio Zeta colony is committed to promoting academic success. As outlined in our scholarship program, we plan one scholarship program a semester to help students succeed academically and grow as a student. Scholarship and Tuition AssistanceThe goal of Phi Kappa Psi is not to create a further financial bourdon on any of the members. The Phi Kappa Psi foundation, which is the largest endowment fund of any fraternity nationally, provides scholarships to all members of Phi Kappa Psi. More information about these scholarships can be located at http://www.pkpfoundation.org/programs/national.shtml Additionally, the Ohio Zeta colony is offering a $500 scholarship for any male freshmen with a 3.0 high school GPA. Anyone who wishes to apply can do so by filling out our scholarship application. |
