HOW TO JOIN PHI PSI

After the Spring 2008 Pledge Ceremony

End of Spring 2008

For anyone who is interested in joining Phi Psi, they should first talk to a member of the fraternity. Feel free to contact us here. We are more than welcome to meet with prospective members.

All prospective members should try to come out to events to meet other Phi Psi brothers. This could be any greek sponsored event, Phi Psi hosted event, or just hanging out with some brothers around the house. Check out our event calendar.

In order to actually join Phi Psi, the brotherhood votes on handing out Bids, or invitations, to join our brotherhood. These bids are our way of asking you to join and be part of our group. A bid is a contract of itself with an obligation to help out Phi Kappa Psi. If you choose to accept the bid, you will enter the pledge, or new member, period. This is a six week, non-hazing, process of learning the basics of membership in ΦΚΨ.

After the six week process, the active members vote on every "pledge" or prospective new member. We utilize the unit rule, where if one brother votes no on a prospective member, that member is not admitted to the brotherhood. This ensures that the group we build is a cohesive group that works together in a unified manner.

Once you are admitted to the brotherhood, you are now a member for life.
