Alpha Phi values service and has a long history of helping others. The Alpha Phi Foundation was founded in 1956. It is one of the oldest Greek foundations for women. The Alpha Phi Foundation supports education of women's cardiac health at an international level. Since Alpha Phi began these philanthropic efforts, more than one million dollars have been donated to support cardiac health initiatives! Beta Omicron of Alpha Phi has a history of a strong, generous spirit as well. Serving those in need locally as well as those far from home is our goal. Our local chapter hosts two philanthropic events each year to support a local charity as well as make generous contributions to the Alpha Phi Foundation. One of our local fundraisers is Broomball, an ice hockey-like game. Participants in this event may have Greek affiliations, can be members of other campus organizations, or can be students with no Greek connection . Broomball is truly an event that everyone at BGSU can enjoy! The second of our local philanthropic fundraisers is the Mr. Alpha Phi Pageant. This tongue-in-cheek "beauty pageant" promises plenty of fun and laughter! Men from all over campus get all dolled up to share their talents and to be interviewed. It is all for charity, so the guys don't seem to mind a bit of laughter at their expense. All proceeds go to the Alpha Phi Foundation. There is no end to Alpha Phi generosity! Sisters generously give of their time and talents participating in many other activities with philanthropic goals. A-Phi's participate in the American Heart Association Heart Walk and sell bracelets and red dress pins to benefit the Heart Association. Alpha Phi teams are always ready to support other campus fundraisers through Dance Marathon, flag football, volleyball, mud tug, and the like! Would you like to help? Please consider a generous donation to the Alpha Phi Foundation. Just click on the link to the right!
