Bowling Green State University

Aug 26:

What recent successes highlight BGSU’s strengths?

BGSU’s learning communities: Our 14 residential and theme communities are consistently cited for enriching the student learning experience inside and outside the classroom and contributing to student retention.

Centers of Excellence: Nationally and internationally renowned programs in the arts—music, theatre and film, fine arts, creative writing and dance—are the foundation of the University’s newly named Center of Excellence.

Fulbright Scholars: BGSU has a rich history of faculty and now, students, who have achieved the distinction of being named a Fulbright Scholar. In 2007, three faculty members and three students earned the prestigious grants – a first for BGSU.

Diversity is integral to our campus: BGSU’s College of Business Administration was recognized for its outstanding business college, with special mention about the MBA program that is among those programs that offer the “greatest opportunity for minority students.”

Collaborative efforts: Each year at the BGSU-Community Collaboration Day, the University celebrates the strong relationships it shares with the City of Bowling Green and the Bowling Green City Schools. Bowling Green was named as one of the best hometowns in the state by Ohio Magazine, thanks in part to the variety of opportunities that exist through Bowling Green State University. The Wolfe Center for the Arts will position BGSU as a leader in the arts and education, as well as a model for the new entrepreneurial, creative economy.

Expanding opportunities: BGSU’s $120 million Building Dreams campaign, which has already surpassed the goal, is raising funds for scholarships, faculty and staff development, programs and facilities, and sustaining the University.
