Laura Christine Dilley, Ph.D., Department of Communication Disorders

Are you interested in how the brain processes language? Do you have an interest in playing or performing music, learning foreign languages, and/or the development of language in children? Do you enjoy computer prgramming, working with computers, and/or math? If some or all of these apply to you, then you may be interested in a research project in my lab. Research opportunities are available in my lab investigating how adults and children learn and process the sounds of spoken language. Responsibilities for various projects include helping to design, run, and analyze experiments; analysis of acoustic properties of human speech; working with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint for data analysis and/or presentation; and/or computer programming to create digitally-altered computer speech and/or music samples. Our lab offers a fun and welcoming environment where you will get to work closely with other research assistants, graduate students, and professors.
