BGSU Scholarship Application Forms

Below is a list of BGSU scholarship application forms.  Click on the name of any of the scholarships to receive additional details on the scholarship, including application dates and criteria.

For scholarship recipients who wish to appeal the cancellation of their scholarship, to use their scholarship for a summer semester or to use their scholarship for less than full time enrollment.

Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average; incoming freshmen or any undergraduate who has at least two semesters of study before graduation; exhibit involvement in campus and/or community organization; reside in one of the following Ohio Counties: Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Henry, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams or Wood. Huron & Lucas County residents may be eligible provided they reside in the following limited areas: Huron County: Limited to Lyme, Norwich, Richmond, Sherman Townships, and the City of Bellevue; Lucas County: Limited to Harding, Jerusalem, Monclova, Oregon, Providence, Springfield and Swanton Townships.

Deadline has passed for the 2015-16 academic year.  Application for the 2016-17 academic year will become available in January 2016.

 

The Edwin H. Simmons Scholarship for the Arts was established for the purpose of providing scholarship support to incoming students who demonstrate considerable promise as an emerging artist in the College of Musical Arts, School of Art, Department of Theatre and Film, or Creative Writing. Applicants must be incoming freshmen with a minimum 3.20 high school GPA and be majoring in any of the programs associated with the University Arts. The Simmons Scholarship for the Arts is renewable for four years if the recipient continues to maintain at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and remains in a University Arts program.

Application deadline for the 2015-2016 academic year is April 17, 2015.

Rising junior (60 credit hours completed by the end of Spring semester 2014) or senior (90 credit hours completed by the end of Spring 2014); minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; demonstrate active participation in University organizations or contributions to BGSU community.

Application deadline for the 2015-2016 academic year is September 20, 2015.

Preference given to students who are active participants in the Black Student Union at BGSU; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; must have completed at least 2 semesters at BGSU; preference given to students who can demonstrate financial need; demonstrate active participation in University organizations.

Rising freshman or continuing student from one of the following Ohio counties: Auglaize, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, or Shelby; demonstrate financial need; minimum of 2.75 or above GPA.
Application deadline for the 2015-2016 academic year is April 15, 2015.

Undergraduate students; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; preference to students who are currently battling or have battled cancer; secondary preference to students who have a family member that is battling or has battled cancer.

Application deadline for the 2015-2016 academic year is September 20, 2015.

Rising senior (90 credit hours completed by the end of Spring semester 2014); minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25; demonstrate active participation in University organizations.

Deadline has passed for the 2015-16 academic year.

Application for the 2016-17 academic year will become available in January 2016.

The Thompson Scholarship for Working Class Families is designed to assists students from working families who may struggle with the cost of higher education. This scholarship was established by Ellen and Robert Thompson to assist students who might otherwise not be able to attend and finish college solely because of economic reasons. Students receiving this scholarship are awarded a scholarship based upon financial need.  Application deadline for the 2015-2016 academic year has passed.
