Common Theme

On behalf of the Provost’s Office, I would like to announce that the Common Theme for 2014-15 is “Who are you? Your choices, your identity, your future.” I hope that this broadly defined theme will provide many opportunities across campus for critical and creative engagement, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the practices and politics of identity are taken up by BGSU over the next academic year. The provost will convene a committee of faculty, staff, and administrators during the summer to plan programming around the Common Theme.

The Provost’s Office has also asked me to announce this year’s choice of Common Read, which was driven by the students’ choice of theme. Our book for 2014-15 is “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates.” The author's website provides background about the book and its popular reception.

Thanks once more for your participation in the new and evolving Common Theme experience at BGSU.
