Relay for Life

This year BGSU Classified Staff will be participating in the Relay for Life as the
Classified Staff BGSU Relay for Life Team.

Dear Classified Staff:

On behalf of the BGSU Classified Staff Relay for Life Team (BGSU Pit Crew), we would like to personally thank each and every one of you for the support that you have shown our team during this past year.  Whether you volunteered your time, baked for our bake sales, purchased a Relay for Life Cookbook, were involved in our “Chili Cook-off,” or donated money, we are truly grateful to you.

This year’s event took place on May 16 & 17, 2008 at the Bowling Green High School. The theme this year was “Cruisin’ for a Cure,” and had 47 teams participating from the surrounding community with the total fundraising for cancer research of more than $143,000!   

In 2007, our team raised $4,300 and was a Silver Sponsoring team.  This year we had several students joining us and we set a goal of $5,000.  Our motto throughout the year was that we were going for the GOLD, which meant we had to raise between 5,000 to 10,000 dollars.  We are very proud to announce that the BGSU Pit Crew raised $5,887.89 and is a Gold Award winner this year!  This was the second year that Classified Staff at BGSU has been involved in the Relay for Life, and the fact that we raised $1,587.89 more than last year, makes our team members very proud and it should make you, a Classified Staff member very proud too!
