Igor Ryabov, CFDR Data Programmer, was named the 2004 recipient of the BGSU Sociology Deparment Adamchak Scholarship Award.
Susan and Donald Adamchak received graduate degrees from the Sociology program. Susan has directed that an endowed scholarship
for outstanding achievements by demography students be created to honor Donald's memory. Igor's research on how families,
the immigration experience, and schools come together to affect Hispanic educational achievement and his recent paper on the
effects of school composition on Hispanic children's achievement make him a worthy recipient of the Adamchak award. On Friday,
September 3rd, Igor received this honor in a ceremony led by dissertation co-chairs Jennifer Van Hook and Frank Goza and attended
by Igor's student and faculty colleagues. Here in this photo are Igor and his wife, Olena, and their son, Oleg, and daughter,
Bohdana. With such a great support network, it's no surprise that Igor is an outstanding scholar and graduate student! Congratulations
and well done, Igor!
