Dr. Guzell's research addresses the goodness-of-fit between parents’ and caregivers’ expectations and the child’s behavior. She focuses on parents’ and caregivers’ attributions about the causes of negative outcomes with children, reasoning about challenging situations with children, and their association of perceived control over caregiving outcomes with their discipline strategies and interaction style. In addition, she is interested in assessment and improvement of the quality of pre-service teacher education
