Student Union Messaging System
Digital signage is used to develop short presentations, similar to Microsoft PowerPoint slide shows, that integrate text and graphics to create customized presentations that can be broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to all four of the full color messaging display monitors in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. These presentations are created locally at the Information Center of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, and then interspersed with up-to-the-minute information on national news, sports, weather, and business.
TV monitors are located in the following areas of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union:
- Clock Tower Entrance Lobby
- First Floor South Entrance (Near Starbucks)
- First Floor Entrance (Behind Information Desk)
- Second Floor (Outside movie theatre)
In addition, the system runs before movies that take place in the Union Theater on the weekends, so movie patrons will see your message on the big screen before the movie begins.
Copy Machine
A copy machine is located near the Information Center. Cost is $0.05 per page. See our staff for assistance in making copies.
Campus Fact Line
Campus Fact Line is your key to "what's going on at BG." A longstanding campus tradition, Fact Line is the number to call for information on campus and community events. Our operators have the resources to help you get the answers you need.

Handbills in the Falcon's Nest
University departments, campus organizations and student organizations have a need to disseminate and share information with the campus community. The Student Union allows these groups to utilize handbills placed in holders on tables within the Falcon's Nest as a vehicle to advertise and market programs and events. More information (pdf).
Key Checkout
The Information Center is responsible for checking out keys to student organization members that have offices in the 410 Student Organization Suite. Student organization members must be registered with the Office of Campus Activities in order to check out keys.
Laptop Rental Program
The Information Center has laptop computers that can be used, free of charge, by simply checking them out at the desk. The laptops are PC's that come with all the necessary equipment students need to do work and/or surf the Internet, including power and Internet cords, and a disk drive to allow them to save their work. The laptops are wireless and can be used to access the Internet anywhere inside the Student Union.
Students must show their ID to reserve a laptop. These laptops are a great way to get your work done from anywhere in the Union.
Lost and Found
Any items lost in the Union are turned in to the Information Center's Lost and Found.
Parents' Help line
The Parents' Help line (1-800-815-1300) is located at the Information Center to answer your questions about current BGSU activities, events, general concerns, policies and procedures, and to serve as a referral agent to other departments on campus.
Ticket Sales
The Information Center will sell tickets to campus events, such as UAO concerts or student organizations events.
