Mission
The mission of the Office of Advancement Services is to ensure the responsible and ethical management and stewardship of Foundation
funds and alumni/donor information, as well as to provide information services and infrastructure in support of University
Advancement fundraising and engagement activities.
Responsibilities
The Office of Advancement Services provides information services and infrastructure to support University Advancement fundraising
and engagement activities with a focus on reporting, accessibility, reliability, and accountability.
These support services include fund administration and stewardship, gift administration and acknowledgement, and the development,
management and maintenance of alumni/donor constituent information storage and delivery systems.
It is the responsibility of Advancement Services to safeguard the information collected by and resulting from the pursuit
of the mission and goals of University Advancement, as well as ensure the ethical and fiscally responsible management of all
BGSU Foundation funds. Advancement Services continuously strives to improve systems and provide the most relevant and useful
information to its users.
Confidentiality of Alumni and Donor Information
Bowling Green State University and the BGSU Foundation, Inc. are committed to protecting the security and confidentiality
of information concerning our alumni and friends to the full extent possible while adhering to federal, state and University
laws and regulations. Our alumni and donors' right to privacy is paramount. The collection, use and access to information
by University Advancement staff are in accordance with approved policies and procedures and generally accepted professional
ethics and standards. Individual gift information is not publicly released without the donor’s consent or the approval of
the Foundation President and CEO or his/her designee.
