The Office of Technology Transfer & Services is a nonprofit corporation that supports faculty members, staff members, and students in commercializing intellectual property developed at the University. The office functions to:

  • Capitalize on the statewide initiative to stimulate the economy with scholarly achievements—especially in science and technology.
  • Promote innovation and stimulate an entrepreneurial culture on campus.
  • Offer faculty, staff and students opportunities to increase the public impact of their scholarship and to participate in any revenue generated through commercialization.
  • Align with the University’s initiative on engagement.
  • Provide new technology that benefits the public.


Goals & Objectives

  • Introduce faculty, staff and students to opportunities to commercialize research and scholarship.
  • Educate the University community about technology transfer procedures.
  • Take University inventions from the research laboratory to products and services available to the public.
  • Return revenue from commercialization to the University community.
  • Build relationships between the University and business and industry.
  • Stimulate the economy of the state and create new jobs.
