This spring, Earth day is on April 22nd! Every year, BGSU celebrates an entire week of environmental events beginning on Earth Day! However, this year, there are almost two full weeks of events starting Saturday, April 14!

April 13
- reStore Give-A-Way
- 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Union Tables
- The reStore will be giving away all kinds of school supplies to help further your academic success! Stop by and check it out!
April 19
- 3rd Annual BG Community Earth Day
- 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Montessori School of Bowling Green (515 Sand Ridge Run, off south Main)
- Held on the beautiful 14-acre wooded grounds of the Montessori School of Bowling Green, activities include nature walks by BG Park District, a bee farm demonstration, tree planting, a community art project, and the grand opening of the community SEED trail (Stewards for Exercise and Environmental Education) and outdoor learning center.

- Clean Your Files
- 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Four Locations:
- Bowling Green Recycling Center, 1040 N. College Dr.
- Wood Lane Industries: 1921 Gypsy Lane Rd.
- First Federal Bank: 1226 W. Wooster St.
Protect your identity while protecting the Earth and saving trees! Just in time for tax season, this event will offer document destruction at no cost up to 50 pounds. Any amount after 50 pounds can be accepted at a reduced rate of $.10 per pound. In addition, any paper that does not require shredding, as well as laser and ink cartridges, will be accepted for recycling at no charge.
- Free tree sapling for the first 50 recyclers!
- Earth Day Jam Fest
- 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Bell Tower Lawn
- Come relax and listen to six different (mostly acoustic) bands who will be setting up on the Education building's steps.
- The bands that are playing: the Athen Ry, Black and Broke, Kazenodaichi Taiki, Forget the Tiger, On Cue, Hefty Moose, and Just Be.

- Enjoy artwork from BGSU students that integrates recycling into art
- Friday Night Lights
- 6:30 p.m.
- Outside Union Theater, 2nd Floor
- Come join in the energy-savings extravaganza and BGSU’s premier green social networking event. Pair up with other students and go building to building shutting off lights and recording the data. It’s easy, quick, and fun!
April 22
- Wintergarden Park Preservation
- 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Wintergarden Park, Bowling Green
- Enjoy beautiful spring weather and help remove invasive plant species at BG’s Wintergarden Park. Co-sponsored by Outdoor Programs and BG City Parks.
April 23
- WYMO Kick Off
- Residence Halls, Greek Housing, and Union
- Save up your “stuff” and donate to the When You Move Out, Don’t Throw It Out program, which begins today, with collection boxes in all residence hall lobbies, Greek houses and the Union. Clothes, personal items, decorations, toys, electronics…..If it’s still good, we’ll take it. Distributes goods to over two dozen local charities, food pantries and other non-profit organizations in need.

- Eco Fair
- 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Union Oval
- Come check out dozens of environmental-related offices, agencies, vendors, non-profits, and university offices in an outdoor fair-like setting! Don’t miss it! Something for everyone!
- Orange Bike Sign-Ups
- 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Eco Fair
- It’s easier than ever to test-drive an orange bike, complete the registration form, and get a key that will unlock any orange bike on campus for you to ride! Join BGSU’s “green” bikeshare program and ride Orange!
- "Gasland" the Movie Premier
- 7:00 p.m.
- BTSU Theater
- Free viewing of the recent award-winning film “Gasland”. Come see what “fracking” is all about!
April 26
- Tree Planting
- 5:00 p.m.
- Meeting at the Union
- Help plant a long-lasting and growing legacy at BGSU by assisting in the planting of a tree on campus. An earth week classic you don’t want to miss!
April 27
- Friday Night Lights
- 6:30 p.m.
- Outside Union Theater, 2nd Floor
- Come join in the energy-savings extravaganza and BGSU’s premier green social networking event. Pair up with other students and go building to building shutting off lights and recording the data. It’s easy, quick, and fun! This is the last FNL event of the academic year and final energy savings announcements and awards will be made!
April 28
- Wood County Plant Exchange
- 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
- Plant Drop Off
- Questions and Answers regarding: Composting, Beekeeping, Vermiculture, Rain Barrels, and More!
- 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Plant Exchange: Everyone receives two plants just for attending. Receive an additional plant for every plan brought to the exchange.
- Wood County Fairgrounds, Corner of Haskins and Poe Road, Bowling Green
