BGSU offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for students enrolled at the Main and Firelands campuses where more than
$18 million in scholarships are awarded annually. Scholarship awards are based on a variety of criteria, including merit,
demonstrated financial need, field of study, participation in a specific program, organization or activity, or any combination
of these items. Awards range from $300 to full fees and do not have to be repaid.

employers, civic organizations, and guidance counselor for more scholarship opportunities.

NEW FRESHMEN
University Freshman Academic Scholarships
Entering multicultural freshmen who are admitted to the University and have a high school grade point average of at least
3.25 after six semesters of high school may apply for a Multicultural Affairs Award for Academic Excellence. Applications
for these partial tuition and on-campus room scholarships are available from the Center for Multicultural and Academic Initiatives (419) 372-2642.
University Tuition Scholarship for Underrepresented Students
$1,000 up to full fees
To qualify
- Demonstrate financial need as established by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Other factors in determining eligibility include academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA, 21 or higher ACT, or 1,000 or higher
SAT (critical reading plus math), race/ethnicity, location of high school attended, state or Ohio county of residence, commitment
and contribution to diversity, and/or alternative measures of academic achievement

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Select scholarships are available to new transfer students from the Office of Admissions and Continuing and Extended Education. Transfer students are encouraged to use the Searchable Scholarship Guide to view scholarship opportunities available to them.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
All international students are encouraged to contact the International Programs Office as well as view scholarship opportunities available from Continuing and Extended Education for financial assistance. In addition, there are several international student resources external to BGSU that all students
are encouraged to review.
Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for federal financial aid consideration. Funds from the FAFSA may include grants, scholarships, loans, and employment. Note:
students who are in the U.S. on an F1 or F2 student visa, a J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa, or a G-series visa (pertaining
to international organizations) are not eligible to receive federal student aid.
