If you do not already have one, apply for a
Personal Identification Number (PIN) on-line from the U.S.
Department of Educations
website at
http://www.PIN.ed.gov/.
The PIN serves as your electronic signature on your
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and
Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note. It also allows you to access
your personal information in various Department of Education
systems. If applicable, your parents may also need to request
a PIN.

Submit the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or renewal FAFSA to
the federal processor as soon as possible after January
1.
SFA strongly encourages you to use your PIN to file the
FAFSA on-line at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
BGSUs school code
is 003018.

Approximately two to four weeks after you submit your FAFSA,
you will receive a Student
Aid Report (SAR) from the U. S. Department of Education
that summarizes the data you reported on the FAFSA.
Review your SAR for accuracy. If corrections are needed,
use your PIN to make them on-line at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
Keep the SAR for your records, do not submit it
to SFA.

students will receive an e-mail via their BGNet e-mail account.
All students may view their financial aid award and financial
aid status on-line at
