The Office of Service-Learning Community Partnership Series
These discussion-based programs bring community partners to campus to talk about their work as well as the needs of their
organization and clients. These sessions are designed to assist faculty, staff, and students in learning more about potential
issues, needs, and partners in the community and to stimulate creative thinking about service-learning courses.
All events held in The Center for Teaching and Learning, 201 University Hall
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Getting Involved with Nonprofits Megan Meyer, Program Director, The Center for Nonprofit Resources In our community, we have a wealth of very important and worthwhile charitable organizations. Over time, our community's needs
and opportunities change. Nonprofit organizations have emerged and grown in large numbers to address these issues head-on.
Many seek help with capacity and sustainability - the kind of support they need to achieve their missions. The Center is dedicated
to ensuring that nonprofit organizations in our region have the information, resources and support required to operate in
an efficient and effective manner. This program will discuss various ways you can make a difference in your community by becoming
involved with nonprofit agencies. We will discuss different ways to volunteer and intern with local organizations. Center for Non-Profit Resources Presentation (.ppt) Center for Non-Profit Resources Website
