The Toledo Blade is accepting applications for the prestigious Jefferson Awards in our community.  Last year people were recognized from Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa Counties.  

Please take a few minutes and nominate a deserving candidate!  Volunteers give so much of themselves and it is wonderful for a community to honor them for their service. 

How to nominate: Only individuals are eligible for the award.  Any local resident or organization can submit nominations.  Go to http://www.toldeoblade.com/Jefferson and at the bottom of the page is a Nomination Form.  Simply complete this form and submit it and the following information: 

1.  A typewritten or computer letter (up to one full page) stating your reasons for your nomination. Be specific: cite clear examples of his or her volunteerism.
2.  Include biographical material (not more than two pages) listing the nominee's public or community service.  
3. Mail the package to:
