http://www.compact.org/awards/swearer/
The Office of Service-Learning at BGSU nominates a BGSU undergraduate student in March of each year for the Ohio Campus Compact Charles J. Ping Award. Ohio Campus Compact will nominate up to 3 Ping recipients for the Swearer Award.
Award: $1,500.
The Howard R. Swearer Student Humanitarian Award recognizes students for their innovative strategies to address community issues and needs, and their efforts to build and sustain this work amongst their peers and within their institution. Five students will be selected nationally for this award.
Selection Process
To recognize the excellent work of as many students as possible, and to build networks of student leaders around the country, Campus Compact has implemented a state/national selection process for the Swearer Award. State Compact offices will review all applications from students studying within their state and select up to three finalists to join the national pool. In many cases, these finalists will be honored with state-level awards. Application requirements and deadlines may vary from state to state. You can find specific information about how to apply to be the BGSU nominee by contacting the Office of Service-Learning, 315 University Hall, 419 372 9865, slbgsu@bgsu.edu.
