The Outstanding Community Service Award will be awarded to first year, sophomore, junior, senior and graduate students. All currently enrolled students are eligible for the Outstanding Community Service Award. This award is designed to honor outstanding service to the Bowling Green and/or University community. This service may take the form of volunteerism or employment. The intent is to recognize students who have made significant strides in bettering the quality of life at the University and/or in the Bowling Green community. Grade point average will be a consideration in determining recipients of the Outstanding Community Service Award.
The awards are coordinated by the Office of Campus Activities, in the Division of Student Affairs. Students are nominated for this award during the first part of the spring semester each year, and nominated students are then asked to complete an application form. The selection committee reviews the applications in March, and the awards are presented at the Gregory T. DeCrane Applauding Excellence Banquet in April of each year.
