Sign Up for the 2010 MLK Jr. Day of Service Challenge
By Paul Valdez

Are you or your organization interested in community service? If so, consider participating in the 2010 MLK Jr. Day of Service Challenge on Monday, January 18, 2010.

What is a service challenge? Registered volunteers will work as a team to accomplish a community service “challenge” at a local non-profit agency. The team challenges will remain a mystery until the day of the event, and each team will be required to utilize their unique talents and skills to complete the challenge. This is a great way to apply your problem-solving skills, meet new people, and contribute to the Bowling Green community.

Who can serve? Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to participate. You may volunteer as an individual and be assigned to a team OR your organization may sign up and complete a challenge as a team.

To register for the challenge please visit https://orgsync.com/forms/show/17065

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Civic Action Leaders in the Office of Service-Learning at civicactionlead@bgsu.edu. If you would like to be on the planning committee please join us for our meetings from 8-9:00 p.m. in University Hall 315, on:

  • December 2, 2009
  • December 9, 2009
  • December 16, 2009
  • January 13, 2010

Help us make MLK Jr. Day “A day on, not a day off”

The 2010 MLK Jr. Day of Service Challenge is the kick-off service event for the BGSU Centennial Celebration. Help us reach our goal of 1,000,000 hours of service in the year 2010.
