Q: Do I have to register my vehicle?
All vehicles parked on campus are required to be registered with the Parking & Traffic Office. Click here to register online.
Q: My classes are all in the evening, do I still need to register my vehicle?
Yes, evening students can purchase a parking permit which allows them to park on-campus after 4:30 p.m. If there are occasions
you would need to be on campus earlier in the day, you have the option to purchase a commuter decal or you may utilize the
parking meters.
Q: What should I do if I forgot my permit at home or it has been left in another vehicle?
Please stop by the Parking & Traffic Office and you may obtain a free parking permit for the day. Each person may receive
up to five (5) days free per semester; after the fifth permit, a temporary permit will need to be purchased.

Academic Year (late August - early May)
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m - 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Meters 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Summer (Mid-May to Mid-August)
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m - 7:00 p.m. Meters 7:30 a.m. -7:00 p.m.
Semester Breaks
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Q: Where can I park when I come to campus?
The staff of the Parking office will assign areas and these areas will be listed on the permit you obtain. If you choose not
to obtain a permit, you may park in the metered areas. The cost for parking in the meters is $.25/half hour with a maximum
of two hours.
Q: Do the parking rules change on the weekends?
Yes. On the weekends, vehicles are not required to be registered beginning Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. until Monday morning
at 7:00 a.m. Meters are also not enforced during these hours.
There are a few restrictions though: the North row of Lot G and East row of Lot K are reserved for faculty and staff at all
times. Lot C and S are reserved for faculty and staff from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Firelanes, Reserved
spaces, and handicapped spaces are enforced 24 hours/day, seven days/week.
Q: There was no sign where I parked indicating I could not park there - why did I get a ticket?
As stated in the BGSU Parking Rules and Regulations, "ALL DRIVES ARE FIRELANES WHETHER POSTED OR NOT. A yellow curb or yellow
lines at the end of a row may also designate a firelane in lieu of posted firelane signage."
Q: What if I don't think I should have received a ticket?
An appeal can be filed within 21 days of the date the ticket was issued. For more information, call the BGSU Parking & Traffic

Q: Where do I go to pay for a parking ticket?
Parking tickets may be paid by check. The check should be placed with the ticket in either the orange or green envelop and
insert it in one of the fine boxes located in the metered parking areas, or payment can be mailed to the BGSU Bursar's Office,
1st Floor Administration Building, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403.
