Incident: Robbery
A female student has reported that a robbery occurred just after 9 p.m. on Monday, April 29. She indicated that an unknown male grabbed her mobile phone out of her hand and scratched her face during the theft. The incident occurred just outside the courtyard door to Founders Quadrangle. She described the suspect as a black male in his early twenties, approximately 5' 06" tall. He was reportedly wearing a red purple hoodie with the words “True Religion.”

CAPTURED
The U.S. Marshals Service reports that Michael Moses Tarpeh, the subject of a Feb. 28 crime alert, has been arrested by law enforcement in Iowa. Although he was never suspected to have been in the Bowling Green area, Tarpeh was wanted for a number of crimes on college campuses in Virginia, Connecticut and Massachusetts and was seen near Ohio State University in Columbus.
He was arrested March 6 by the Iowa State Patrol after allegedly attempting to steal gasoline near Council Bluffs.

Be On The Lookout
BGSU Police have been notified that U.S. Marshals and law enforcement agencies in Columbus, Ohio; Virginia, Connecticut and Massachusetts are actively searching for this individual – Michael Moses Tarpeh. There is no reason to believe that Tarpeh is in the Bowling Green area.
However, there is concern that the suspect has been traveling from one college campus to the next targeting college-age women. He is accused of sexual assault, burglary and carjacking. Tarpeh was believed to have been in the Columbus area recently.
Tarpeh is 23 years old, described as “heavy-set,” about 6 feet tall, and weighing around 280 pounds. He was last known to be driving a 2002 four-door, gold-colored Honda Accord with New York plates – EHN1615.

Incident: Sexual Assault
A female student has reported that a sexual assault occurred just after midnight on Monday, Dec. 10. She reported that an unknown male touched her inappropriately and without her permission while she was riding a campus shuttle bus. She described the person as being a white male in his early twenties, medium build, approximately 5' 07" tall, with brown hair, a mustache, and a tattoo on his hand or wrist. He was reportedly wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Persons riding campus shuttles should notify the driver if any crimes, problems or emergencies occur on the bus. Shuttle drivers are in radio communication with the police and can call for assistance immediately.

Incident: Violation of Persona Non Grata Order
The safety and security of our students, faculty and staff is Bowling Green State University’s top priority.
Michael David Peters has been banned from all BGSU campuses and facilities for making threats against a faculty member.
Mr. Peters was reportedly seen on our Bowling Green campus today in McFall Center. If he returns to campus, he is subject to arrest for criminal trespass.

Incident: Assault
The City of Bowling Green Police Department is investigating the assault of a BGSU student that occurred off campus sometime in the early morning hours of Oct. 29. A passerby discovered a male victim lying near the Wood County Courthouse on East Court Street at approximately 12:42 a.m. The victim was transported by air ambulance to a Toledo hospital for head injuries. If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to contact the Bowling Green Police Division at 419-352-2571.
Safety Tips:
- If you see a crime being committed, call 911 immediately.
- Try not to walk alone at night. Walk with another person or a group of people and be aware of your surroundings.
- Walking escorts are available on the Bowling Green campus between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. by calling 419-372-8360.
- The campus shuttle service or a taxi is also a good alternative to walking alone.

Incident: Sexual Assault
The BGSU Police Department received information from a Greek House Director that a female was sexually assaulted in the early hours of Friday, October 14, 2011 and that it may have occurred in a Conklin Greek housing unit on campus. Information gathered from the House Director and the Bowling Green city police indicates the female had been with friends downtown earlier in the evening and left them to return home. She does not remember how she ended up in the residence where the incident occurred, but she recalls the suspect initially telling her he would take her to see the person she was looking for and she recalls sexual activity taking place. The suspect was a college-aged white male. Alcohol was involved.
Sexual Assault refers to a range of crimes from unwanted or offensive sexual touching to sexual battery, attempted rape and rape.
BGSU reports these incidents to help raise awareness in and among the University community and to enable community members to take safety precautions to reduce the risk of crime. Campus notifications are made in compliance with the provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998.

Incident: Multiple Assaults
Two, off-campus assaults over the weekend that resulted in serious injuries are being investigated by Bowling Green Police.
Several males assaulted a male BGSU student early Saturday, March 26, following a party on Troup Street. The victim was transported by air ambulance to a Toledo hospital with head injuries.
Early Saturday morning, a North Baltimore man was assaulted by several people near the railroad crossing on East Court Street. He was also transported to a Toledo hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.
Bowling Green Police are investigating. The department does not believe the two events are related. If you have any information on either incident, you are asked to contact Bowling Green Police at 419-352-2571.

Incident: Indecent Exposure
The BGSU Police Department reports that a male suspect exposed himself to several women near the southwest corner of the Jerome Library around 11:30 p.m. last night (March 22).
The suspect is described as a heavyset, white male, approximately 6-feet tall and about 20 years old. He was wearing khaki pants and a black, hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact the BGSU Police at 419-372-2346.

Your safety and security is our utmost concern. I wanted to let you know that Erie County Sheriff's deputies arrested Yoseph Al-Mufti, a former student, yesterday after a disturbance in the teaching and learning center. Mr. Al- Mufti was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. We are cooperating with the Erie County Sheriff's Department in its ongoing investigation.

In an unrelated incident last night, Perkins Township police arrested Mr. Al-Mufti a second time near the grounds of the Ohio Veterans Home. He was again charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
As a result of these charges, Mr. Al-Mufti has been banned from all Bowling Green State University facilities - both here at Firelands and in Bowling Green. If he returns to either campus, he is subject to arrest for criminal trespass. If you see Mr. Al-Mufti on campus, contact police.
I want to assure you that we take any type of threat seriously, and we moved quickly to ensure the safety of our campus. Update: Arrests in recent vehicle break-ins/vandalism
BGSU police report the arrest of two non-students in connection with the recent vehicle break-ins/vandalism in Lot 12, which is located north of Perry Field House. Both men are from Lorain, Ohio and are in jail facing multiple charges.
Prevention Tips:
Remember to lock your vehicle and remove any valuables, if possible.
If you need to leave items in your car, lock them in your trunk or place them out of sight.

Incident 1: Laptop Thefts
On September 5, 2010, three laptops were reported stolen from Harshman Residence Hall. The computers were taken from unlocked rooms.
The BGSU Police Department is seeking your assistance in identifying the perpetrators.
Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to contact the BGSU Police at 419-372-2346.
Prevention Tips:
Keep doors shut and locked at night and anytime you are away from your room. Keep valuables out of sight when not in use. Know who belongs on your floor and report suspicious activity immediately to the police.
Incident 2: Vehicle Break-ins/Vandalism
Over the weekend, September 11-12, 2010, approximately 12 vehicles were reported to have been broken into or vandalized in Lot 12 located north of Perry Field House. A number of items were reported stolen from the vehicles.
