LGBT Advisory Board

PURPOSE:

To serve in an advisory capacity to the BGSU community on ways to improve the climate for diversity at Bowling Green State University and address issues facing the welfare of LGBT students.


FUNCTIONS:

  1. Review of campus policies, procedures, practices, and current conditions in the area of educational programs and campus climate for students;
  2. Review and make appropriate short- and long-term recommendations.

MEMBERSHIP:

  1. Shall consist of a variety of representation throughout the BGSU community, including faculty, staff, undergraduate students, and graduate students,
  2. One undergraduate student appointed by the Undergraduate Student Government to a one-year term;
  3. One graduate student appointed by the Graduate Student Senate to a one-year term;
  4. One student appointed by the Resident Student Association to a one-year term;
  5. One student appointed by VISION to a one-year term;
  6. Other committee members shall be appointed as needed/appropriate

CHAIR:

Chair shall be appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs. The current chair is Claire Semer.


OPERATING PROCEDURE:

All meetings shall be conducted within the framework of BGSU’s core values of respect and cooperation.


VOTING RIGHTS:

All members shall have equal voting rights.


REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The LGBT Advisory Board reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs.
