Counseling Center Staff Members Present Poster
Each year, the University of Michigan Depression Center hosts a conference focusing on depression on college campuses. The theme of this year’s conference, held February 26th – 27th in Ann Arbor Michigan, was Moving Toward Healthy Self-Care and was intended for individuals, including students, parents, and professionals, who work with college students in any role.
At the conference, two of BGSU’s Counseling Center staff members, Staff Psychologist Dr. Craig Vickio and Undergraduate Intern David Denison, participated in a poster session entitled “Helping Disconnected Students Find Their Niche: Implementing a Peer Ambassador Program on College Campuses.” Their poster described the establishment of a new service in which counselors refer students to meet with a “peer ambassador,” a trained undergraduate intern, who helps them learn of opportunities to make connections and form community at BGSU. Congratulations to Craig and David on this exciting achievement!
