Updates from Assessment Committee

Dr, Steve KampfMr. Chris BullinsUnder the leadership of Dr. Steve Kampf, Assistant Vice President and Director of Recreation and Wellness, and Chris Bullins, Associate Dean of Students, the Assessment Committee (AC) has set a goal of becoming an exemplar of assessment in student affairs across the country.  The plan is to create a culture of assessment within the Division, and to accomplish this goal, the AC is working on the following:

  • Webinar series* with our partner, Campus Labs, on:
    • Writing Effective Learning Outcomes
    • Direct Measures of Student Learning
    • Focus Groups
    • Next term: Rubrics and Telling our Story
  • Rubric to evaluate the signature programs from every unit
  • Program Cohort Tracking in partnership with Institutional Research (e.g., membership in Greek life or working as student employees in Recreation, etc.)
  • NASPA Consortium Benchmarking Project: Counseling Center & Recreation and Wellness
  • Program Review in cooperation with Divisional Leadership
    • Utilizing the CAS Standards
    • Developing a five-year cycle
  • Plan for attendance as a team at the Ohio Student Affairs Assessment Conference in June 2013
