Commencement is a time of ceremony and pageantry, a time for celebrating academic achievements, and a time to begin the next
step in life. Family and friends gather to witness this formal end to a student’s college years; faculty, staff and trustees
join the tradition of conferring degrees; and students participate in an annual rite that marks their individual accomplishments.
The Fall 2009 commencement ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, December 18 at 7pm and Saturday, December 19 at 10am. They will be held in Anderson Arena at Memorial Hall.
Please join this celebration and visit our online sign-up sheet to volunteer and receive additional information for:
- Ticket Takers (entry doors)
- Disabled Seating Assistants
- Commencement Program Distributors
- Lobby East or West Door Assistants (directing visitor traffic)
- Second Floor East or West Hallway Assistants (directing visitor traffic)
- Olscamp 101 Assistants (overflow location)
- Floater (anything not listed above)
Once the ceremony officially begins and no one needs further assistance, your volunteer responsibilities will conclude with our appreciation. You are invited to stay and enjoy the complimentary refreshments. If you have any questions, please contact Bonita Bembry at 419-372-2381 or Jen Moore at 419-372-2774.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Challenge
The MLK Jr. Day of Service Challenge is an exciting way for the BGSU community to participate in public service for the community of Bowling Green. On this day, students, staff, and faculty will come together in service groups to tackle challenges identified by and for local community agencies. The MLK Jr. Day of Service Challenge is also the kick off service event for the BGSU Centennial Celebration, so come out and help us celebrate 100 years of education by contributing ONE MILLION hours of service!
