2009 OCPA Careers in Student Affairs Conference

Logo for Ohio College Personnel AssociationThe Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) is a comprehensive student affairs organization dedicated to providing quality professional development opportunities that enhance student learning, foster an appreciation of diversity, and encourage collaborative partnerships among student affairs professionals in Ohio.

The OCPA Executive Council encourages you and your students to participate in the upcoming 2009 Careers in Student Affairs ConferenceLeadership & Networking: Being Resourceful in a Changing Economy on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Baldwin-Wallace College from 8:30am-3:00pm.  More than 200 undergraduate, graduate participants, and professionals are expected to attend. 

The Careers in Student Affairs Conference is designed for graduate and undergraduate students interested in pursuing graduate studies and careers in Student Affairs.  The conference offers opportunities to:

  • Participate in a Graduate School Fair to learn more about program options and requirements
  • Network with Student Affairs practitioners
  • Get motivated to seek a career in Student Affairs
  • Meet new friends
  • Discover career tracks in Student Affairs

We are also still seeking a few more program proposals.  We encourage you to consider sharing your wisdom and experience with graduate and undergraduate students.  Submit a program proposal on or before Friday, October 30, 2009. 

We encourage you to visit the Careers in Student Affairs Conference website or connect via the OCPA website at www.ocpaonline.edu and select “Conferences.”  Please share this information with friends and colleagues.  More importantly, please encourage undergraduate and graduate students to attend.  Groups of 10 are able to register and attend at the discounted rate of $270.00.  We want to see undergraduate student leaders and graduate students interested in careers in Student Affairs from all Ohio institutions at this exciting conference!

  • November 6-10: NASPA IV-E Professionals Institute (11/6-11/8) and Regional Conference (11/8-11/10)
  • November 11: BGSU Offices Closed: Veteran's Day
  • November 20: Football versus Akron, 5:30pm
  • November 25-27: Thanksgiving Break
  • November 27: Football versus Toledo
