Division of Student Affairs

Welcome from the Vice President

Dr. Edward G. Whipple, Vice President for Student AffairsDear Colleagues,

Welcome to the start of another successful year for our students, our Division, and Bowling Green State University! With New Student Welcome well underway, we are moving ahead into another year of change and opportunity. I sincerely appreciate all you have done to welcome our new students and embrace the arrival of our returning students. The work you do, the connections you make, and the enthusiasm you demonstrate all make a significant, long-lasting impact on our University community.

Now, more than ever, the programs and services offered by Student Affairs are needed to create and contribute to the vibrant learning community in which our students learn, develop, and grow. We welcome Dr. Ken Borland, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, and look forward to working closely with him and others in Academic Affairs to provide valuable learning experiences for students both inside and outside the classroom. The outlook for our institution is filled with great promise and the possibilities are endless; our active participation in this evolution is essential.

I strongly encourage all of you to engage in the University dialogue concerning student learning and enrollment-management issues, all within the context of our institution strategic plan. As a vital element in the success of our students and Bowling Green State University, the collective voice of Student Affairs must be ever-present in the intellectual exchange of ideas and the development of new policy.

I look forward to continuing this conversation at our 16th Annual Back to School Coffee on Thursday, September 10 in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom, Bowen-Thompson Student Union.

Roll Along!

Edward G. Whipple

Vice President for Student Affairs
