INTRODUCING THE “STUDENT AFFAIRS TOOLBOX!”
“What’s in your toolbox?”

The “SA Toolbox” is your “go-to” location to find BGSU service providers as well as the nuts and bolts of fundraising, contract processing and one-stop-shopping for forms, policies and other helpful websites. The design is for both student organizations as well as staff to offer one website to visit when planning events, contracting with outside vendors, ordering food, etc.
The “SA Toolbox” is the resulting recommendation from the Outside Vendor Ad Hoc Group formed to identify situations within the Division of Student Affairs where outside vendors are displaying or advertising goods and services and develop guidelines regarding outside vendors.
The alternative to yet another set of rules and regulations is an informational and educational approach to help distinguish university service providers and help ensure existing policies and procedures are followed by Student Affairs departments and related organizations. The goal of the resource is to act as a primary reserve of information and a tool to increase collaboration among organizations, avoid internal competition among university service providers, avoid competing fundraisers and assist organizations to determine the need for and how to better use outside vendors.
The brain trust that developed the idea of a centrally located information source includes representatives from Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Finance & Administration (Business Operations), Office of Campus Activities, Office of the Dean of Students, Residence Life, Student Publications, University Bookstore, and University Dining Services.
