Division of Student Affairs
HESA Comings and GoingsThere has not been a dull moment within the Department of Higher Education and Student Affairs these past few months! Topping our news is the recent hire of two new assistant professors, Dr. Christina Lunceford and Dr. Our incoming HIED and CSP cohorts are both very strong. At this writing, there will be 7 full-time and two (or more) part-time HIED students beginning this August. They are moving to Bowling Green from places such as Florida, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and the far corners of Ohio. CSP students are coming, once again, from coast-to-coast. We had over 225 applications for 36 CSP internships and the pool was exceptionally competitive. To all of our HIED and CSP supervisors in the Division of Student Affairs, our thanks. The connection between in-class and experiential learning is a true hallmark of our programs made possible by your mighty efforts for students. In a time of tremendous change at BGSU, We are grateful for the continuity of your commitment to HESA. Important Dates:

Nicholas Bowman. Dr. Lunceford earned a Ph.D. from Michigan State University and has been working at California State University Fullerton. Dr. Bowman earned his PhD. from the University of Michigan and has been serving at the University of Notre Dame. Furthermore, Dr. Kenneth Borland, is stepping down as senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at BGSU to join the HESA faculty full-time. We welcome them as we bid a fond farewell to retiring faculty members Dr. Bob DeBard and Dr. Carolyn Palmer. We are sad to be losing our friend and colleague Dr. Ed Whipple who has been a great
contributor to our faculty and the HESA program. Thank you, Ed, for your 17 years of service to BGSU and your outstanding support of HESA! We look forward to working more closely with Mel Hudson-Nowak and Jodi Webb in the interim. And lastly, we thank Dr. Rob Cunningham for the fine teaching he has done for the department. We will miss all of them.
