Sidney R. Childs, Director of TRiO Collegiate Services, is the 2009 recipient of the James A. Rankin Award in recognition and appreciation of dedicated service and commitment to TRiO students in the state of Ohio. Childs received this award at the Ohio TRiO Conference in April held in Columbus. BGSU's TRiO Collegiate Services office is the home of two federally funded TRiO programs at BGSU: Student Support Services and the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement program. Congratulations, Sidney on receiving the James A. Ranking Award.

Congratulations to Jen Moore, Office of Vice President for Student Affairs.  She received the Spirit of BG Award for May 2009. Jen takes on Commencement duties as coordinator each semester. She manages to incorporate many changes that include helping train new staff throughout the campus community that play major roles in making Commencement happen. She works selflessly on her weekends to ensure that everything occurs in perfect timing. Jen devotes weekdays to assist Dr. Joe Oravecz, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, in a multitude of ways, and she does it with grace. From all classified employees at BGSU, we thank Jen for having the true spirit of BG!
