19th Annual Paulsen Lecture
Dr. Margaret A. (Peggy) Jablonski came to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2004 after serving over two decades at five other campuses in New
England. Recognized as a leader in the field of student affairs, Jablonski served as a dean in the student life areas at Brown University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Connecticut. Currently as the lead student affairs administrator at the University of North Carolina, she works jointly with students, faculty, and staff to create and maintain a climate that fosters student learning and development while enhancing a strong sense of community for almost 27,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
Dr. Jablonski has supervised most major areas of student affairs on more than one campus, including Housing, Student Union, Student Health, Dean of Students, Counseling, Judicial Affairs, diversity programs, Orientation, and Campus Recreation facilities. Jablonski has been involved in the design of two comprehensive “one-stop shopping” centers that provide both academic and student life support functions. She led the revision of three codes of student conduct. She has reviewed and redesigned numerous programs from leadership development to a housing master plan.
Please join the Office of Residence Life and the Office of the Vice-President for Student Affairs for the 19th Annual Paulsen Lecture by Dr. Margaret (Peggy) Jablonski, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The lecture will be held on Friday, April 3 beginning at 9:30am in Room 308 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
A reception to meet Dr. Jablonski follows her lecture in the Mylander Meeting Room in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
