Farewell to Rodgers Quad

Rogers housed a lot of students over its years, but now the Rodgers Quadrangle is making way for a new, modern residence hall. In the coming weeks, Rodgers will be demolished, beginning on the east wing and continuing to the south and west wings.

Rogers QuadrangleEveryone is invited to come share their memories of the building at an open house from 10:30am to 12:30pm this Saturday, February 27 in the Commons Dining Room.

Watch a slide show, view the memorabilia wall and photo timeline and add your comments to the guest book. There will also be a silent auction. A short retrospective by Dean of Students Jill Carr and Barbara Keller, former Associate Dean of Students will begin at 11am.

About Rodgers
Built in 1955, Rodgers Quad was the second dormitory constructed on campus to house males only; it became a co-educational facility in the early 1970s. University administrators financed the cost of construction through the innovative method of selling revenue bonds. It was officially named and dedicated to E. Tappan Rodgers, board of trustees president from 1946-61. In 1969, major renovations were completed. Read more on Rodgers' history from the Jerome Library archive.
