Student Affairs Appointments
Dr. Ed Whipple, Vice President for Student Affairs, is pleased to announce two personnel changes within the Division. First, Sarah Waters has been appointed Director of the Office of Residence Life effective January 1, 2011. Waters had served as the Interim Director since September 2010. She came to Bowling Green State University in August 2008 as Senior Associate Director of Residence Life and was responsible for residence hall staffing, programming operations, and crisis management oversight. Prior to coming to BGSU, Waters worked professionally in housing and residence life at Ball State University as an Assistant Director, Minnesota State University-Mankato as a Complex Director, and East Carolina University as a Residence Hall Coordinator. Waters earned her master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from Indiana University-Bloomington, and her bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from Washington University in St. Louis.
Second, Christopher Bullins has been appointed Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, effective January 1, 2011, after providing leadership to the program on an interim basis since October. He came to Bowling Green State University in August 2008 to pursue his doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration and worked as a doctoral graduate assistant in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Prior to returning to BGSU, Bullins worked professionally in Greek life and student activities at the University of Florida as an Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Involvement and Sorority and Fraternity Life and the University of Arizona as a Program Coordinator. Bullins earned his master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University, and his bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Speech Communication from Eastern Kentucky University.
Waters and Bullins will focus on co-curricular experiences and facility enhancements that contribute to the educational mission of BGSU. Both individuals bring significant experiences and energy to their positions and will continue to provide strong leadership within the Division.
