BGSU’s Chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta Receives National Recognition

The National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for First Year College Students has awarded a Delta Award at the Gold Level to BGSU’s Alpha Lambda Delta Chapter. The award was given to recognize the chapter’s substantial increase in student membership during the 2011-2012 academic year. Congratulations to the students of Alpha Delta Lambda and Deborah Novak, Assistant Dean of Students, for her work as this organization’s advisor.

Grant Received to Support McNair Scholars

BGSU has been selected to receive grant funding under the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program. $220,000 will be awarded during each of the next five years to provide academic and other support services to prepare 30 low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students for doctoral study. According to the grant proposal, supports for students will include “opportunities for research or scholarly activity, summer internships, seminars, tutoring, academic and financial aid counseling, faculty mentoring, assistance with the graduate school application process, and other services.” Congratulations, TRIO Programs!
